Laura Robinson

Owner and Head Trainer/Instructor

Laura grew up riding and competing locally in equitation and hunters as a child and young adult in Austin, Texas. After receiving her B.A. in Political Science from Colorado State University in 2006, Laura decided that her passion had always been with horses and began her career in the equine industry.

Laura worked her way up the ladder, first as a stablehand, then as a groom, assistant, and working student. During this time she began to pursue dressage and eventing as her primary disciplines of study. After years of hard work and on-the-job education, Laura moved back to Texas to fulfill her dream of owning her own training and lesson program in 2010. In 2015, Blue Moon Farm opened its doors.

As a trainer and coach, Laura focuses on helping students achieve their goals, whether they want to compete and win or simply build a better relationship with their horses. She has worked for and with established trainers and coaches including Karin Donckers, Nancy Fair, Bert Rutten, Buck Davidson, Ron Smeets, Tom Poulin, Captain Mark Phillips, Lainey Ashker, Deb Rosen, and more.

Boarding

At Blue Moon Farm, we recognize that all horses are unique individuals. We offer several living options and feed programs so each horse's lifestyle can be customized for physical and mental health.

Our boarding program offers quality coastal hay and alfalfa, Bluebonnet grain, full facility use, and a quiet atmosphere that encourages relaxation in horses and people. We are also experienced with special-needs horses, rehabilitation, post-operative care, and foaling.

Lessons and training

Laura Robinson has trained horses and coached riders professionally in central Texas for more than a decade and has ridden and competed for over 25 years.

Her training is based in classical dressage with an emphasis on correct equitation, empathy, kindness, and fun. Students value her focus on building a correct foundation and understanding the fundamentals.

Competitions and schooling

Laura and her students regularly compete at schooling shows, USEA and USDF recognized shows, clinics, and cross-country schooling trips.

Competing is not required at Blue Moon, but we are happy to support riders who want to get out, test themselves, and enjoy the process with their horses.
